Scott Gordon has worked with resident-owned communities (“ROC’s”) in Florida for well over a decade and devotes a substantial portion of his law practice helping ROC managers and directors deal with a vast variety of legal issues. Many of Scott’s clients are resident-owned manufactured housing cooperatives that often include recreational vehicle (“RV”) sections. He has also provided the legal guidance for the purchase of a number of manufactured housing and RV communities by the homeowners living in those communities and the conversion of those communities to ROC’s. Scott is a partner in the Sarasota, Florida office of Lutz, Bobo, Telfair, Eastman, Dunham, Gabel, Gordon & Lee, a firm that is known for its representation of owners and operators of manufactured housing and RV communities throughout Florida.

Scott has been certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in the practice of Real Estate Law since August of 1998. He currently serves as a member of the Bar’s Mobile Home and RV Law Committee and also co-chairs the Real Property Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association. He has spoken on the legal issues affecting resident-owned communities for meetings of local chapters of the Community Associations Institute, Continuing Legal Education seminars sponsored by the Florida Bar, and the annual Affiliate Assembly of Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund, Inc. Scott contributed to the updating of the “Mobile Home Parks and Subdivision” chapter of the latest edition of Florida Real Property Complex Transactions published by the Florida Bar’s Continuing Legal Education Committee.

A transplanted mid-westerner, Scott moved from Akron, Ohio to Sarasota in 1982. He is married and has two daughters. Scott can be reached by email at sgordon@lutzbobo.com.
