We’ve made it through the first month of 2020! February will be very busy as I am offering board certification training for prospective and current Directors of cooperative associations (governed under Chapter 719 of the Florida Statutes) on the following dates:
- Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Lake Bonnet Village in Avon Park (we’ll begin at 10:30 a.m. and finish by 1:15 p.m.)
- Friday, February 14, 2020 at Betmar Acres in Zephyrhills (sponsored by the East Pasco Resident Owned Communities group–beginning at 1:00 p.m. and finishing by 4:00 p.m.)
- Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at River Forest Village in Punta Gorda (sponsored by OURROC–the meeting begins at 1:00 with board training beginning at 1:30 and concluding by 4:30)
Our board certification training sessions have always been very well attended and we expect more of the same for these events. As always, you will find both refreshments and networking aplenty!
Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published its latest guidance on how housing providers should deal with a request for an assistance animal as a “reasonable accommodation” under federal Fair Housing laws. Discussing this latest guidance with your association attorney might be a good item to put at the top of your board’s “to do” list.
